AC-GOP Chairman’s Blog – December, 2019

Prologue: Some folks have told me that they actually like my blog postings. Others have told me that they are too long. In either case, thanks for reading - and sharing - them. (This one will be a bit shorter…)

The election of 2020 will be one of huge impact on each – and on all – of us. The Democrat candidates are showing us their future, and it is truly bleak:

  • Much bigger government

  • Much higher taxes

  • Ever – increasing interference in our personal decisions – even telling us what to think and how to speak.

We have been watching the Dems’ intense desire to be, and stay, in power – and by any means. We must not, therefore, allow ourselves the luxury of letting up on our efforts to keep them from gaining control. For motivation, just reflect on the radical laws inflicted on us, by one – party “rule”, in the last Colorado General Assembly.

Yes, of course, we have to hang onto our ideals, but it is at our own peril if we do not prevent the D’s from carrying out their extreme agenda…The only way to stop the madness is for each of us to commit to working harder than ever before, to get out “our” vote, and to elect our Republican candidates!

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” ― Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities (Para.1, Line, 1)

Throughout the history of the United States there have been critical issues that have threatened to fracture us as a nation. This time is no different…and at the close of 2019, we, of the United States of America, are definitely not United. The people of this country live in two parallel worlds – neither of which can see what the other sees, nor even tolerate it.

  • One world believes – and wants to believe – that government is not only the answer to every conceivable societal issue, but a way to control those who believe the opposite. That world no longer wishes to accept the obligation of personal responsibility, but instead, expects “The Government” to provide anything anyone needs – and at everyone else’s expense.

  • The other world (“our” world) believes that the less government, the more individual freedom. It understands that only through our acceptance of personal responsibility will our fundamental and Constitutional rights be protected. It considers government’s primary purpose to be safety and security, and beyond that, anything else government is allowed to do takes away our freedom to speak, act and live our lives independently.

The impeachment farce is the focus of the “world” that does not like (or just plain hates) the current President – and although he has accomplished much good work in his three years in office, he cannot even be allowed to breathe in or out, without his being attacked.

Dem strategists have seized on this deliberate misapplication of the impeachment process – a vital Constitutional function – as a way to unify their “base”, but that is not what this current diversion is about, nor is it about any of the emotional – issues’ parades, focus-group-influenced demonstrations, or student-protests/riots – against –Conservative – speakers – on – campus – nor is it the REAL reason Democrat decision-makers and die – hards so dislike and/or despise the President.

The impeachment “tactic” is really about the fact that the past administration had been positioning the U.S. on a path toward Socialism – but the current occupant of the White House has been – and will keep – blocking the implementation of that very carefully calculated plan.

Here is proof of that statement (as if you need it):

Throughout history, Socialist movements have – almost universally - started with a takeover of Healthcare and Education. In my estimation, this Dem march toward U.S. Socialism started with:

  • …the launch of the Unconstitutional Affordable Care Act (Healthcare) and Common Core (Education);

  • …followed by a non – stop assault on how people speak, as well as how they defend themselves, e.g. the demand for politically – correct speech – and gun control;

  • …plus, have you been observing how too many of our often unaware-uninformed-manipulated young people are swallowing all the Socialism “hype” (no doubt thinking that the first two syllables of Socialism are “social”)?

We have become frogs in heating water, seemingly unaware that our freedoms are fading away, at the hands of those who want to control us – but why? Well, it appears that “they” want to destroy our way of life, so “they” can take – and keep – power…But…if all we want to do is to keep what we have, then who would be more motivated and “hungry” to succeed? …And to use emotion to sway their base? …And universal/targeted Internet contacts to sell slogans, fake news and lies – along with the perception of being part of a like-minded (and, thus, comfortable) “community”? Wouldn’t that describe the “Change Agent”, not the Defender of the Status Quo?

If our candidates’ staffs, and our officials – both party and officeholders – continue to rely only on tried and true campaign methods, and don’t match and surpass what is being thrown at us, we will have lost every race before having begun the next round. …And, if we continue to try to pit “our” sensible issues, rational solutions, logic, idealism, and Constitution, against “their” passion, we will be continuing to live under an illusion – and a delusion – until it is too late. We must accept that in today’s world, emotion, targeted at winning, is all that matters.

So, what do we do about it? Well…if our way of thinking and living makes sense, they need no defense. What we must do is to change our strategies, because carefully explaining the Tax Code or any other “issue”, is not the answer. Rather, we must go “21st Century”: Visual, flashy, humorous, engaging, personal, and emotional, or our counter-offensive won’t work: Picture a big-government hand taking money out of a wallet and handing it to others; people fighting over TP (Venezuela); long lines to see a doctor. We must grab attention and never let go.

…And then, to beat them in Arapahoe County, we need more boots on the ground. We need more District Captains and Precinct Leaders. We need folks to walk neighborhoods. We need money to contribute to candidates, so they can buy air time and internet ads. We need people to get their friends and neighbors to vote – Republican. We need negative ads against opponents to ridicule all their dumb stuff. …And we need to spread the word that under – voting (i.e. not voting) for every single Republican (whether they are “pure” enough for you, or not) elects a Democrat (and do you want THAT on YOUR conscience?)

“You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We’ll preserve for our children this – the last best hope of man on earth – or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness – President Ronald Reagan

Despite all the dire warnings: Thank you for all you do! May your holidays be warm and wonderful. May this coming year see you in good health and good luck – and celebrating many great times together with your friends and family. 2020, HERE WE COME!
