Colorado placed fifth among the states for gains in small-business employment in November, tied for its best showing of the year, according to the latest monthly Small Business Index from Intuit Inc., released Wednesday.
Small-business jobs in the state rose by 0.2 percent in November from October levels, besting Colorado's gains of 0.14 percent, 0.09 percent and 0.11 percent in October, September and August respectively.
In terms of Colorado's ranking among the states for small-business employment gains, Colorado's 0.2 percent rise last month tied it with seven other states in fifth place. Previously, Colorado landed in eighth place in October, ninth in September and fifth in August. Its finish in earlier months of 2014 ranged from seventh to 23rd place.
