2008
Important: This
ballot consists of resolutions that were passed by various precinct
caucuses. They are an expression of grassroots
democracy. They have not been endorsed by the Arapahoe County
Republican Party. The purpose of this balloting is to
determine which of the resolutions will be considered endorsed by
the county party. Because some of the resolutions contradict
other resolutions, you should read through all resolutions before

We resolve that from
conception to natural death, life is a God-given right to be
protected.
We resolve that a “marriage”
is only between one man and one woman.
We resolve to affirm
the right to keep and bear arms, by the individual, and not merely
by the National Guard. YES
We resolve to urge
legislation which would prohibit all state and local government
payroll systems from deducting from any person’s paycheck any
private interest groups, union dues or political party
contributions. YES
We resolve that Home
Rule Cities shall not be exempt from honoring the State
Constitution, nor shall they impose ordinance, codes or other laws
which preclude, preempt or supersede protections afforded by the
State Bill of Rights. YES
We resolve to support
any legislation which helps homeschooling move toward further
academic excellence. YES
We resolve to oppose
the single-payor health care system in any form, knowing that
government-administered health care leads to rationing and higher
costs.

We resolve to oppose
the US Supreme Court’s position of endorsing the practice of eminent
domain taking of private lands from citizens for the purposes of
allowing other private entities or citizens to build upon those
lands something that the governmental entity prefers.

We resolve that life begins
at conception.
We resolve that our
national borders must be secured immediately by: physically securing
our borders and coastlines by fences and other barriers; strict
enforcement of visa rules; no amnesty in any form to include any
version of the “Z-visa”; no public assistance of any kind for
illegal aliens; an end to birthright citizenship.

We resolve to support
repealing all taxes upon Social Security benefits.

We resolve to support federal
legislation which would mandate that monies paid into the Social
Security System, together with interest thereon, shall be used only
for payment of the benefits of the Social Security System.
We resolve to support,
defend, enforce and obey the literal meaning and original intent of
the United States Constitution and our Colorado
Constitution.

We resolve to favor the
development of new energy sources, and favor legislation which
repeals federal regulations and taxes which impede resource
development; which extends the investment tax credit to solar, fuel
cell, and wind energy.

We resolve to favor the
repeal of any federal subsidies and privileges granted to the
nuclear power industry.
We resolve to urge elected
officials to consider only the Constitution of the United States
when prioritizing our national budget.
We resolve that all receipts
and invoices received by the State of Colorado from the Counties for
labor, supplies and systems delegated to the Counties by the State
shall be reimbursed in full by the State of Colorado with 60 days of
receipt evidencing payment by the County.
We resolve to support federal
legislation which would overturn Roe v Wade by removing the
ability of the federal courts to interfere with state legislation
which protects unborn life.
We resolve to support the
concept that a child within the mother’s womb is in fact a “person”
as that is understood in the Constitution and laws of the United
States and of Colorado.
We resolve the United States
must withdraw from any organizations and trade deals that infringe
upon the freedom and independence of the United States of
America.
We resolve to support
legislation which would require that state government jobs, to
include contracted jobs, not be filled from outside the state of
Colorado.

legislation which would increase the penalties for identity
theft.
We resolve to support the
phase-out of the Federal Reserve Corporation, and a move toward a
free-market currency system.
We resolve to oppose the
Patriot Act and all of its various elements, including laws
that: expanded the federal government’s ability to use
wiretaps without judicial oversight; allowed nationwide search
warrants non-specific to any given location, nor subject to any
local judicial oversight; made it far easier for the government to
monitor private internet usage; authorized “sneak and peek” warrants
enabling federal authorities to search a person’s home, office, or
personal property without that person’s knowledge; and required
librarians and bookstores to turn over records or books read by
their patrons.

We resolve to support
legislation making illegal in social security disability cases, any
medical testimony from a physician who has not, at a minimum,
examined the person who is the subject of the hearing.

We resolve to support a
review of the cost of living increases as they apply to the level of
income necessary to qualify for food stamps.
We resolve to support
legislation which will modify the current smoking ban to allow a
floor, or walled-off section for smokers, including signs announcing
health risks, and making a smoking section in restaurants and bars
only after 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

We resolve that a priority
objective for the United States is to provide technical resources,
and other support, to ensure that this nation is energy independent
of any foreign oil.

We resolve to support action
which will remove special interest groups and lobbyists from
Washington, D.C.

We resolve to support
governmental action which would make it easier for people to legally
immigrate to the United States.
We resolve to support
legislation which would end the concept of “sanctuary cities” for
illegal aliens.

teaching in schools in the English language only.

We resolve to urge that the
government use National Guard troops to supplement our efforts to
patrol the United States borders.
We resolve to urge the United
States to stop all free trade agreements with
Mexico.
We resolve to support
legislation which would prohibit government from taking away the
Driver’s License from individuals who make their livelihood by
driving, if the reason for that taking is because the driver is in
violation of child support orders.
We resolve to urge the State
of Colorado to actively enforce child support collection efforts
against parents who are delinquent by fifty thousand dollars or
more.
We resolve to oppose the
amount of federal funds spent on
entitlements.
We resolve to support fiscal
responsibility and a balanced federal budget.
We resolve to oppose the
enactment of additional immigration reform, but rather insist upon
the effective enforcement of the laws already on the books.
We resolve to support
limiting the campaigns of presidential candidates to a period of
time no earlier than six months before the election
date.
We resolve to support setting
aside September 11th as an official day of
remembrance.

“fair tax”.
We resolve to support action
by the federal government to eliminate the IRS.
We resolve to support a
system where the states with the fewest delegates hold elections
first, and larger states (with more delegates) hold elections later
in the year.
We resolve to support
legislation which would transfer all federal welfare programs to
state control; stop the collection of that proportion of taxes at
the federal level; and allow the individual states to collect taxes
to fund that program, as they may deem appropriate for that
need.
We resolve to support passing
laws to create a single-payor system for providing health care to
all citizens, as was done in Canada.
We resolve to support all
efforts by our elected officials at the state and federal level to
eliminate “pork barrel” spending.
We resolve to support a
balanced federal budget.
We resolve that humans, or
human endeavors, do not significantly contribute to “global
warming”, whether or not that is in fact occurring.
We resolve to urge that
a line-item veto be available to all state Governors and Presidents
of the United States. YES
We resolve to support an
overhaul of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
We resolve to affirm
the primary right of the parents to direct the education and
upbringing of their children.

We resolve that the Veterans
Administration conduct a review of veterans’ disability rights so as
to remove all limitations on
veterans.
We resolve that pregnancy,
abortion and birth control should remain personal and private
matters, not subject to governmental
regulation.
We resolve that public
officials and employees should not be provided with special pensions
and medical benefit plans which are not also provided to all other
private citizens.
We resolve to support
legislation that would require that any piece of legislation be
restricted to a single topic only, include the appropriations needed
to carry out the intent of the bill, and that it shall be written in
simple language to permit ease of comprehension.

We resolve to support efforts
to end Colorado’s Wait List for people with developmental
disabilities, such as mental retardation, autism, and cerebral
palsy.
We resolve that in-state
tuition be available for US citizens only.
We resolve to oppose
any taxation by any governmental entity which is occasioned by the
death of any person. YES
We resolve that any medical
provider which receives government payments for healthcare must
provide sterilization surgery to any person over the age of
twenty-one years who makes that request.
We resolve to oppose any
state income taxes.
We resolve to support the
repeal of all taxes collected by special districts and cities, and
support the collection of taxes only by the
counties.
We resolve to oppose a
national ID system.
We resolve to support
government programs which provide 24-hour per day daycare as well as
jobs for all adults who are able to work.
We resolve to support
legislation which would require welfare recipients who are able to
work, to be employed in some productive activity in order to remain
eligible for those benefits.
We resolve to support a
ceiling of $150,000 on salaries for all governmental
employees.
