As we go into the Labor Day Weekend and the end of summer parties, picnics and parades, I want to thank everyone for what you have done this year. Yes, I look at the political part, but I want to thank you for stepping up to help your communities, for providing interesting conversation and thoughts, and for being there.
Now, the work begins--homework, school activities and trying to have your own life. I am asking you to also do something else. Work toward electing people who will represent all of us--try to remember that they do not represent only a segment of the electorate. These men and women have stepped up to volunteer huge portions of their lives---and their family’s lives---to commit to public service to represent you. You may not like what they say 100% of the time. They are a sight better than the opposition. These are honorable men and women who have felt a powerful pull to represent you. I promise that I will not ask you to do more than I will ask of myself. I don't lead that way. I can promise that we will work hard, laugh hugely, and meet some of the most wonderful people in the world---fellow Coloradoans.
In the meantime, please join me in having a happy, healthy weekend.
